new bespoke elements are introduced with restraint and geometric precision. The result is a subtle balance between preservation and transformation, where the building’ s memory remains legible without ever becoming museum-like.
The tenth floor, conceived as a large open-plan environment overlooking the Milan skyline, develops a more fluid and collaborative dimension. Here, workstations, meeting rooms, informal lounges and social areas are organised through a coherent system of custom-designed furnishings and bespoke lighting elements. Large central bookcases articulate the depth of the space without interrupting its visual continuity, transforming archives and documentation into an integral part of the interior architecture.
The intervention is defined by a controlled palette of mahogany, burnished metals, lacquered surfaces and textiles in deep tones— greens, petrol blues and oxidised reds— which establish a measured dialogue with the material character of the tower. Lighting elements also assume an architectural role: large suspended rings and linear fixtures create rhythm and perspective, shaping the perception of space without resorting to overt gestures.
Particular attention has been dedicated to bespoke furniture design, a recurring theme in the work of Paolo Frello & Partners. Meeting tables, reception desks, bookcases, seating systems and storage units are conceived as extensions of the architecture itself, reinforcing a seamless relationship between object and space. Here, furniture design does not perform a decorative function; rather, it contributes to the construction of a coherent and recognisable identity.
The relationship with Milan is constantly present through the tower’ s openings, which frame views of the Duomo and the urban landscape, transforming the city into a continuous presence within the working environment. These views are never treated as spectacle, but as an integral part of the everyday experience of the space.
With the Excellera Advisory Group headquarters, Paolo Frello & Partners delivers a project that reflects on the future of professional environments through the lens of one of the most significant buildings of Italian modernity. It is an intervention that avoids excessive formal statements, focusing instead on proportion, atmosphere and spatial quality, reaffirming architecture’ s ability to create enduring relationships between people, places and memory.
