NO. 8 CASTLE ROAD TOWERS REDEFINE VERTICAL LIVING IN HONG KONG
ACPV ARCHITECTS ANTONIO CITTERIO PATRICIA VIEL
ACPV ARCHITECTS Antonio Citterio Patricia Viel reveals the residential towers at No. 8 Castle Road, Hong Kong. Located between the green slopes of Victoria Peak and the Central business district, the two towers emerge as a new architectural presence in the Mid-Levels area of Hong Kong. A joint venture project by Henderson Land Development Company Limited and New World Development Company Limited, the high-rises reinterpret the relationship between architecture and the urban terrain, balancing monumentality with a refined human scale.
“ The project explores the idea of architecture as both an anchor and a transition: a built organism that adapts to the hillside’ s dramatic slope while creating a new dialogue with its surroundings,” says architect Antonio Citterio, co-founder and Chairman of ACPV ARCHITECTS. The two towers rise to approximately 198 meters in height and span a total floor area of approx. 62,500 square meters. Connected by a shared podium, the volumes are positioned like asymmetrical wings— distinct yet inseparable— embracing the terrain with a fluid geometry.
“ The orientation of the towers is the result of a precise design intention that enables them to relate dynamically to the urban context while enhancing views, natural ventilation and privacy,” adds architect Patricia Viel, co-founder of ACPV ARCHITECTS.
