Guardian Clarity™ anti-reflective
glass for eye-popping details
Traditionally, glass is used to create a barrier to protect its encased environment. However,
selecting the wrong glass can affect the overall performance by introducing unwanted glare and
reflection, while at the same time reducing light transmission and overall aesthetics. It is here that
Guardian Clarity can make a difference.
Glass is the material of choice for many
applications. Glass has a unique set of
performance characteristics: optically pure
and aesthetically pleasing, glass is strong,
hard-wearing and long-lasting. Architects
and designers around the world utilise this
incredibly flexible and versatile material to
help increase visibility or create highlights
and features in façades. However, while the
glass itself may be clear, the view is often
less than perfect, as it is often obstructed
by glare and reflection.
Standard clear float glass will reflect
light on both the front and back viewing
surfaces by around 8% in total (around 4%
from each surface). While these values are
relatively low, they may interfere with our
ability to see through the glass clearly. For
some applications, this simply is not good
enough. Good examples are shop windows
which lose impact due to distracting
reflections, viewing platforms which lose
visual accuracy due to distracting glare,
and restaurants with breath-taking views
that become completely hidden as soon as
the sun goes down, to name but a few.
There is clear glass and there is Guardian
Clarity anti-reflective glass
Now there is a solution. Guardian, a key
supplier to the building industry, has
introduced Guardian Clarity anti-reflective
glass. Created by using the most advanced
magnetron sputtering glass coating
technology, Clarity is ideal for applications
in which excessive glare and reflection
create an obstruction.
help to meet local regulations in terms of
energy performances through thermal
insulation and/or solar control. This can be
achieved by combining Guardian Clarity
with Guardian SunGuard® products for
solar control and Guardian ClimaGuard®
products for thermal insulation. The use
of Guardian UltraClear™ low-iron glass in
combination with Clarity increases light
transmission and neutralises the green
colour of standard glass leaving a crystalclear appearance.
Guardian Clarity anti-reflective glass helps
to achieve higher light transmission and
lower light reflection, delivering eyepopping optical properties for premium
exhibit, display and façade experiences, in
fact any applications in which a stunning
view can be an advantage.
However you use it, Guardian Clarity
anti-reflective glass offers the best optical
performance available today, maximising
visibility with minimum light reflection and
maximum light transmission. Whatever
the application, Guardian Clarity can make
a difference anywhere – helping to create
buildings that stand out in the urban
landscape.
And that is not all. Used in combination
with other Guardian products, Clarity’s low
