MARKET DEMAND IS STRONG FOR
CELSIUS SOLID ROOF
Synseal has experienced a very
positive market response to the
launch of the company’s new Celsius
Solid Roof, with requests for project
quotations surpassing expectations.
The key sales arena is undoubtedly
retrofit replacement of existing
1st generation conservatory roofs,
which is certainly a growing market
segment. The sizeable quantity of
installed conservatories across the
length and breadth of the UK presents
a prime opportunity for upgrading
with either high performance
insulated roof glass or a modern tiled
solid roof.
An Energy Follow-Up Survey 2011
report 6: Conservatories, prepared
by the BRE in December 2013
on behalf of the Department of
Energy & Climate Change (DECC),
identified that approximately 18%
of the 21.9 million households
in England have a conservatory
which equates to around 4 million
conservatories. Only 77% of these
conservatories have heating and a
telling additional statistic from Palmer
Market Research is that back in 2004,
when new conservatory sales were
still at their peak at almost 200,000
installs a year, 75% of those projects
featured polycarbonate roof glazing.
These factors combine to underpin
a tangible market demand for
upgrading with a thermally-efficient
replacement roof solution.
