CELEBRATING 20 YEARS

From One Stallion to a World-Class Roster
While TR DUAL REY was the stallion who began the journey, the Buffalo Ranch story has never been about a single horse.
What started with a handful of carefully selected stallions has grown into a 2026 Australian roster of 24 elite sires, representing some of the most respected bloodlines in the performance horse industry. Over time the program has also evolved from standing primarily SDP Buffalo Ranch owned stallions to managing and promoting world class stallions on behalf of leading owners throughout the United States and Brazil.
Several stallions have played defining roles along the way.
TR DUAL REY introduced generations of Australian breeders to exceptional cutting horse genetics, producing more than $ 437,000 in Australian NCHA progeny earnings while leaving his mark across cutting, reining, reined cow horse, roping and campdrafting.
HYDRIVE CAT, lost in 2019, remains one of the most influential sires the program has brought to Australia.
He recently surpassed $ 1 million in Australian NCHA progeny earnings and his Australian progeny include a Warwick Gold Cup Campdraft winner SDP SCOTT DAVID.
SANNMAN and SIGALA REY have continued that tradition, with Australian progeny making their mark in the cutting arena. More recently, exciting young sires including SPOTS HOTTIST, BOONIFIED, SHOOGA REY LEONARD and VON SPARTACUS have been enthusiastically received by Australian breeders and represent the next generation of elite performance genetics.
Today’ s roster also reflects the changing landscape of the performance horse industry. While cutting remains at the heart of the program, Buffalo Ranch now offers genetics across multiple disciplines. The addition of 2026 World’ s Greatest Horseman Champion JAYMES BOND demonstrates a commitment to elite reined cow horse bloodlines, while CC RUNNING expands the roster with proven sprint horse bloodlines.
Throughout that evolution, one philosophy has remained unchanged: building long-term relationships with breeders by offering world-class
genetics, honest advice and service that extends well beyond the breeding contract.
More Than Breeding Numbers
Statistics tell only part of the story, but they do show the scale of the program’ s contribution.
Since AQHA breeding returns began being recorded digitally in 2010, more than 1,100 registered mare breeding returns have been processed through the program. Taking the previous six years into account, Buffalo Ranch estimates that close to 2,000 mares have been bred in Australia over the past twenty years, averaging well over 120 mares annually.
The broader impact extends well beyond breeding figures. Buffalo Ranch has invested heavily in the Australian performance horse industry through sponsorship of major events, contributing significantly to competitor prize money and supporting the growth of the sports its breeders enjoy.
Collectively, the program is estimated to have generated more than $ 3 million in economic value for Australia through breeding activity, events and associated industry investment.
