AQHA VALE: IN LOVING MEMORY OF BLUE BOONS MY GRANNY IMP Q-61139
VALE BLUE BOONS MY GRANNY
Q-61139
IMP
9 MARCH 1995- 22 JULY 2026 The Mothership of Chance Lodge
It is with great sadness that Chance Lodge farewells a truly remarkable mare, Blue Boons My Granny( imp) Q-61139, who passed peacefully on 22 July 2026 at the grand old age of 32.
Owned by Jill and John Farnham from Chance Lodge, Granny was a mare whose influence extended far beyond her own achievements. Sired by Docs Hickory( USA-0919616) and out of Peppys From Heaven( USA-2579469), she became one of those rare foundation mares whose legacy is measured not only in the horses she produced, but in the generations and people she inspired. For Chance Lodge, Granny was everything.
“ I could write a book on Granny and what she has produced and the huge contribution she alone has made to the Australian Cutting and Campdraft community.”
Granny was the beginning of Chance Lodge, and the entire line of horses that followed can be traced back to her. She was, quite simply, the Mothership, the foundation upon which a remarkable breeding program was built. Her influence on the Australian Cutting and Campdraft communities has been immense. Through her offspring and their descendants, Granny has left a living legacy that will continue to make its mark in arenas and campdraft yards for many years to come.
Her bloodlines, ability and qualities have been carried forward through generations, ensuring that a part of Granny will always remain at the heart of Chance Lodge.
At 32 years of age, Granny had earned every right to rest, but saying goodbye to a mare who has been such an integral part of the Chance Lodge story is never easy. Her passing marks the end of an extraordinary chapter, but certainly not the end of her story. Her legacy lives on in the horses she produced, the generations that follow, and in the countless memories she leaves behind.
“ She was the start of Chance Lodge and our whole line of horses are linked back to her. She was The Mothership for us. We will miss her deeply.”
Chance Lodge would also like to extend a heartfelt thank you to Sophie Bramucci, Niomi Baxter and Jessica MacCallum for the love, care and devotion they gave Granny throughout her later years. Their dedication ensured that this special mare was surrounded by kindness and affection right to the very end. Rest peacefully, Granny. Blue Boons My Granny( imp) 1994- 2026 Forever the Mothership of Chance Lodge.
