Q-42160
A CHAMPION • A PRODUCER • A FOUNDATION MARE • AN INSPIRATION
There are horses that make their mark in the arena, and then there are those rare individuals whose influence reaches far beyond their own achievements. One Hellofa Spin Q-42160, affectionately known as Zoe, was one of those extraordinary mares.

Owned and bred by Raelene Higgins of Authentic Quarter Horses, Zoe was laid to rest on 28 April 2026, at the grand age of 26. Sired by the great Docs Spinifex( imp) and out of Rocs Stardust, Zoe leaves behind a remarkable legacy that has become an important part of the Australian cutting horse history.
From the moment she stepped into the arena, Zoe had a presence that was impossible to ignore. She was an inspiration to everyone fortunate enough to see her perform, combining exceptional ability, cow sense, determination and the qualities that define a truly great cutting horse, her record speaks for itself.
She was the only quadruple NCHA winner, and remarkably, the only mare to have won the NCHA Futurity and then go on to produce an NCHA Futurity Champion as well.
Her greatest legacy, however, was not just simply measured by her own accomplishments as an outstanding athlete, but as a foundation broodmare capable of passing on the exceptional qualities that made her so special. Zoe produced the 2019 NCHA Futurity Champion, a beautiful mare called Hellish Q-85396, sired by SR Instant Choice Q-64212 and also the 2025 NCHA Open Classic Champion, a chestnut mare Shez Hell Q-95565, sired by EBS Phalaris Q-63710. a remarkable legacy and contibution through generations of outstanding performance horses. Excelling across Cutting, Campdrafting and Cow Horse, her progeny have carried her exceptional ability, cow sense and competitive spirit into arenas throughout Australia. Among her many accomplished offspring is Hells A Comin Q-62783, who placed third in the NCHA Open Derby, won the prestigious Australia’ s Greatest Horseman Show, and went on to claim numerous Campdraft and Challenge victories. Zoe ' s influence will continue to be felt in the Australian horse industry for many years to come.
A horse of Zoe ' s calibre is never the achievement of one person alone, and Raelene extends her heartfelt thanks to the people who played an important role throughout Zoe ' s remarkable journey: Stacy McGregor, Ian Francis, Rob Hodgman, Link Baumann, Peter Todd, Todd Litchfield and Tony Fookes.
Their dedication and horsemanship helped shape the journey of a mare who gave so much to the sport.
Zoe was loved and respected right until the very end, and while her passing leaves an enormous hole, her legacy is one that will never be forgotten.
At 26 years of age, One Hellofa Spin Q-42160 took her final journey, but the mark she left on the Cutting and Campdraft horse industry will live on through her achievements, her progeny and the countless people she inspired along the way.
