I remember Corey Holden and Aaron Wheatley
telling me, that the mare can definitely handle
a tough cow, drive up strong and the mare will
do the rest.”

In preparation with Reylee Play A3-727
leading into the Victorian Futurity Trudy
only had two works on her before she
showed her, she recalls, “To get a feel of how
she would be, a lot quicker then I had thought.
She doesn’t wait for you, you just got to sit
deep in the saddle.”
When asked, Do you get nervous leading
in to such a prestigious event? Trudy
answered, “No, I didn’t for this event because
it’s a fun event with no pressure.”
Trudy recalls her first impression of Reylee
Play A3-727. “She arrived as a two year old,
she stood out, as there are not too many
buckskins in the industry. She’s so strong, nice
short cannon bone, and a big strong hip. She
is built to run and stop, And to this day, she
has never had a needle in her life, she’s built
to last.”
“I watched my husband Corey train this mare.
She was impressive from day one, she just had
so much desire to work cows. She’s a true cow
horse, she’s just loves her job,” says Trudy on
her first impression of Reylee Play A3-727
on a cow. Corey has shown the stunning
buckskin mare to great success taking
out an NCHA Open Classic Challenge
Championship.
“I was very honoured to be the first female to
ride this mare over the time line,” says of her
winning ride in the Ladies Pink Cutting with
Reylee Play A3-727. “I asked Danny a few
years ago if I could show this amazing mare,
he promised me, after she finished her aged
events - and as Danny always does he lived
up to his promise. So this was the year I got to
show the “golden bullet”.” F
