Care.
“I have competed in this event each year, and love
watching the joy it gives people. I have always thought
it would be such a huge honour to win this event
especially as we know the beautiful Elliott family and are
so lucky to have such great people in the industry,” said
Trudy Holden not long after her incredible win in the
Ladies Pink Cutting with Reylee Play A3-727. Trudy
added, “I’m also very proud that I’m a breastfeeding
mum with a beautiful four month old healthy little boy
named Cash. Reylee Play is by our amazing stallion
‘Reys Ya Garter’, that I have always wanted to ride.”

Trudy commented on her impression of the Reylee
Play A3-727 during the run. “I have never ridden a
mare that is so strong and quick, you can not kick this
mare past a cow. She’s so smart, she can trap a cow in
the middle of the pen and makes it look so easy. Its just
a job hanging on. As I was walking into the herd you
could feel her heart through your legs, it was the coolest
feeling.”
When asked, what was it like waiting to hear your
score? Trudy responded, “When the buzzer went, I
remember thinking how sore my cheeks were, from
grinning for two and a half minutes. It went so quickly.
I made sure I rode her like I stole her, because its a true
honour to ride a mare of that calibre. I wasn’t going to
play safe. I keep asking Danny Carey who owns her,
what is the best advise you can give me before I rode
in? He said, ‘make sure you don’t take your eye off the
cow, or she will leave you for dead’. Well that was spot
on. When I heard the score, all I could do was smile and
look at Danny and tell him, we did our very best.”
Trudy commented on her help and the advice that
she received from them during her winning run. “I
watch the herd get settled, I was second last out, there
were plenty of good cattle in the herd, but when you
draw deep, you have to go a bit by feel.
