2025 HALL OF FAME INDUCTEE
Their achievements spanned Reining, Halter, Hunter Under Saddle, Trail, Western Pleasure, Western Riding, Working Cow Horse, Showmanship, Horsemanship, and Hunt Seat Equitation— laying the foundation for Jerry’ s versatility and performance potential.
As a three-year-old, Jerry achieved notable success under saddle at the 2003 QO3 show, winning both the Senior Youth Showmanship and Hunt Seat Equitation classes. His performance contributed to Olivia( Waldock) Ladd earning the High Point Senior Youth title, showcasing Jerry’ s talent and versatility in the youth arena. However, the partnership between Rick and Jerry proved to be somewhat inconsistent, leading to the decision to find a more suitable match for the promising gelding.
Around this time, Fran and Tim Christian were searching for a horse for their daughter Liz, who was transitioning into western disciplines after a successful pony club career. Under the guidance and recommendation of Trish Wettenhall, they purchased Jerry— and it proved to be a perfect fit. Jerry thrived in his new home and partnership, though he retained his cheeky personality, especially when it came to being caught in the paddock. Liz and Jerry began showing together in June 2009, marking the start of a successful and memorable journey.
Jerry’ s performance career is nothing short of exceptional. Accumulating points in 11 different disciplines, he holds the highest number of Open Trail points to date, with an impressive 543. A State Champion in 10 separate disciplines, Jerry has earned 144 wins and runner-up titles at both State and National level, frequently securing titles such as High Point Senior Horse and High Point Amateur. His consistency and versatility have been recognised with over 46 End of Year Awards, including High Point Youth, High Point Amateur, and High Point Category 1. In a remarkable achievement, he was named High Point Amateur at the Victorian, New South Wales, Queensland, and South Australia State Shows in the same year— an extraordinary clean sweep. Jerry was also a Top 3 contender in Western Riding for eight consecutive years.
JERRY WAS NOT ONLY A REMARKABLE ATHLETE BUT ALSO AN EXCEPTIONALLY INTELLIGENT HORSE WITH A STRONG WORK ETHIC
