Scott & Kirsty have bred Quarter Horses for over 20 years, with Scott, and Matilda’ s brother, heavily involved in the Cutting and Campdrafting industry. Matilda began attending Pony Club, eventually competing in Hacking, Dressage, and Jumping events.
At 10yo, Matilda started riding Tyrell Park Alil Squeak Q 56825, known as Frosty, and became confident enough to start working cattle. In 2019 she rode Squeak to win the Junior Youth Cutting at Scone.
She was soon competing in Ranch Riding, within the Sue Williams Equine Versatility Show Series.
Matilda’ s first major success came in 2021 when she won the Sue Williams Equine Versatility Buckle Series High Point Youth Award. Matilda also showed Tyrell Park Alil Squeak to win the Q21 National Champion Youth Boxing.
‘ My parents are my primary instructors,’ Matilda says.‘ But when I was younger I received lessons from Annette Holgate. To further improve my Ranch skills, I began lessons with Sue Williams. My show horse, Eagleview Desert Rose was bred by my parents. By One Roan Pepto, out of one of their favourite performance mares, Rose is like that box of chocolates; you never know what you ' ll get.’
