Landmark Sale Photos Sue Jones Equal Highest Priced Horse of the sale, Lot 405 Sophie Duck Q-74958 (Sophisticated Catt x Oaks Special Duckling) – John Brekelmans T he 2016 9th Landmark Classic Sale again experienced a record breaking gross at $7.13 million, with an average increase to $13,660 across the board, with 522/589 lots offer sold for an 88% clearance. Day one highlights included the sale topper $68,000 for Lot 127, Jayem Snipellieta (Acres Destiny x Jayem Ellieta) on the account of Mr Cameron and Sarah Parker and sold to Toonga Pastoral Company, Wagga Wagga. Lot 98 was $60,000 for Teles One Moore (Teles Again x One Moore Spin) on account of Barry and Salli Smith selling to Christina and Milton Jones, Coolibah Station NT. Lot 212 sold for $47,000, Alreys Moore (Rey Dual x One Moore Chime) account of Tom Williamson and sold to Mt Riddock Station, Alice Springs, and NT. Lot 415, Hugh Miles’ entry Dual Again Q-73233 (Teles Again x Dual N Boonsmal) Day two highlights saw $70,000 achieved twice for Lot 405, Sophie Duck (Sophisticated Catt x Oaks Special Duckling) account of Mr J Brekelmans selling to Wally Rea, Marlborough Qld and Lot 415, Hugh Miles’s entry Dual Again (Teles Again x Dual N Boonsmal) selling to Elliott Cattle Company, Corfield. Peter and Toni O’Neil’s entry, Touchwood Commence (Kahmoo Kenjara x Hazelwood Comment) bought $68,000 and was secured by Woodridge Pastoral, Currububula. Setting a record for the two year old’s was Bruce and Julie McNaughton’s Acres Lullaby (Acres Destiny x Tassas Sweet Song) selling to Ted and Sheir Fogarty of Alice Springs.
