2026 Nutrien Stallion Campdraft AQHA Incentive winners- Bradley Comiskey and Springsteen Q-95128
A SHARED JOURNEY For Briony, the journey with Springsteen runs deeper than ribbons and prize money.
Having established a Brangus stud many years ago, she understands the long game required to build something meaningful in the cattle world and the horse industry is no different.
“ When we bought him as a two-year-old, we really wanted to take it slow and not put too much expectation on him or ourselves in the early years,” she explains.
Balancing farm operations, an off-farm business, and a competitive campdraft career demands enormous commitment particularly from Bradley, who puts countless hours into training at home.
“ I’ m just super excited to see all his effort really paying off for him and Bruce,” Briony says.
Their shared goals, patience, and steady approach have strengthened not only their horsemanship but their partnership. Success in the arena reflects years of teamwork behind the scenes.
OVERCOMING ADVERSITY The 2026 Nutrien Classic wasn’ t without its challenges.
Fresh from a busy breeding season, Springsteen had only just completed his stallion duties weeks before the event. Refocusing a young stallion can sometimes test even the best training foundations but Bruce handled the transition in stride.
The real hurdles came once they arrived.
He picked up a bacterial infection in his hind leg and later sustained a jaw injury that required stitches all before finishing his competition commitments. Managing treatment while keeping him fit and mentally ready for nine runs across the week required careful attention.
“ Phil Manchon had a well-worn path to our truck,” they say gratefully.“ He was great throughout the week and made sure we weren’ t expecting anything of Bruce he wasn’ t up to.”
Through it all, Springsteen delivered.
