THE AUSTRALIAN QUARTER HORSE INDUSTRY IS BUILT ON RESILIENCE, ADAPTABILITY AND
COMMUNITY SPIRIT QUALITIES PERFECTLY EMBODIED BY RENEE ATFIELD, THE AUSTRALIAN QUARTER HORSE ASSOCIATION’ S 2026 YOUNG AMBASSADOR QUEST REPRESENTATIVE.
In partnership with Made by Harls, the Australian Quarter Horse Association( AQHA) proudly selected Renee to represent the Association in the 2026 Nutrien Classic Ladies Foundation Young Ambassadors Quest. Her appointment followed an unexpected change of plans when fellow entrant Elektra Birks sustained a broken foot and was unable to compete. In true Quarter Horse fashion, the team pivoted and Renee stepped confidently into the role.
A DIVERSE BACKGROUND GROUNDED IN RURAL LIFE
Based in Quirindi, New South Wales, Renee works as an Aged Care Support Worker. Her professional pathway reflects both dedication and versatility, with qualifications spanning primary industries, veterinary studies, hospitality and food technology.
Her broad skill set speaks to a strong work ethic and a deep rooted connection to rural Australia qualities that resonate strongly within the Quarter Horse community.
Sport has always been central to Renee’ s life. From horse sports and campdrafting to tennis, touch football and netball, she brings competitive spirit and teamwork to every arena she enters. Beyond equestrian pursuits, she is also actively involved in leading and showing cattle, further reinforcing her all-round agricultural background.
Renee is a valued member of the Willow Tree Campdraft Committee and has generously volunteered her time at the AQHA National Finals over recent years. Her involvement demonstrates a commitment not just to competing, but to contributing meaningfully to the industry she loves.
