The Quarter Horse is a diverse breed of horse , and we are grateful to our breeders for their continual breeding programs that produce such exceptional horses .
To our competitors , Judges , Affiliates , all members , and breeders , you are the AQHA , and your continued support of this association , now and in the future , will strengthen the quarter horse industry in Australia well into the future .
Thank you to the Board of Directors who have worked diligently to keep the Association in a viable financial position , and our General Manager & staff for all the hard work and services you give to our members .

KIM JOHNSON - DEPUTY PRESIDENT

Firstly , I would like to thank all of my fellow directors for their hard work ; Gemma and the office staff , its been very busy ; I thank all of you for your suport of me in my position on the board .
Internationally we have had two new International Executive Officers in 2022-2023 year , we have done our business plan and have attended some virtual meetings with AMQHA for better communications .
We have a new head of International activities , see AMQHA website for all information .
AMQHA is the largest equine breeding registry in the world 13 countries with approximately 31,000 members and 440,000 registered Quarter Horses , they are keen to develop more communications with all international affiliates .
We are members of 2 task forces , one on registry and other looking at the different drug rules Internationally . We have a regular Affiliate communication meeting every 3 months , with the elections of new directors for 2023 . Ihave enjoyed being your International portfolio , and Deputy President . We have had an outstanding year and I look forward to 2023-2024 , thank you to you the members for your support thoughout 2022- 2023 . AQHA PROUD .

- Portfolio : Youth
I am pleased to bring you my report for the Youth Portfolio .
At the time of writing this report we are only weeks post our YWC trip to Bryan College Station , Texas USA , where I am ecstatic to report team Australia finished ‘ Second in the World ’ from 17 countries ! Five riders , one reserve rider , three leadership kids , a coach and manager made the journey to represent our country . To say I am proud of all of the kids is an understatement ! Congratulations goes to each and ever one of them for their part played in the Silver Medal , Holly Skopp our coach did an amazing job with the kids and horses , while I managed the team . Thanks goes to the AQHA and all of the sponsors , partners , supporters and families who all came together to help make these lifetime memories for our kids !
The Trans Tasman , another international competition was held at Benalla , Victoria in September 2022 , and I am pleased to announce our Australian Youth team were awarded the gold medal . Congratulations goes
to the hard working kids , and thanks goes to the organisers , horse doners , supporters , families and thanks to Kane Skopp for steering our kids to the win . In January 2024 , we will be organising and running a kids cutting and cow horse camp in the Tamworth region over the school holidays , so keep a watch out for the details to come .
Application documents for the Trans Tasman 2024 and YWC 2025 will be available to download from the website soon , so keep a look out for them .
Our AQHA marketing portfolio in conjunction with the Youth are planning on revamping the Camp QH for youth Australia wide , so keep a look out for these .
I would like to thank my 2022-23 sub committee 2ic Kane Skopp , Kim Johnson , Pauline Stuart-Fox and Shelley Lalor for your ongoing support , President Carol Ricketts , Gemma Clarke our General Manager and the BOD , for supporting me as the Youth portfolio director and hope to keep our momentum moving forward into the following year .
