Vale - SIMPLY CLASSY (Jessica) Q-39779 VALE – Q-14321 IMA CHARMER On the 15th March, 2016 my daughter Katie and I made the heartbreaking decision to put to sleep our lovely palomino mare, Simply Classy. She was by Classy Priority (Imp) Q-31812 out of Simply Impressed Q-23831 (Profit). She was only 18 years old but suffering from an old injury and her quality of life had rapidly deteriorated. I bought Charmer sight unseen from breeder Rosemary Clifton in 1988 as a green-broke two year old. Ima Charger was a gelding by M.B.J. Charmer (imp) out of Gypsy Rose Lee. Charmer was sent to trainers, Bert and Leanne Purcell for training. With this partnership he acquired:AQHA Champion Award AQHA Youth Award Twice Hi-Point Halter Gelding of Australia Hi-Point Western Horsemanship Horse of the Year Reserve Grand Champion Gelding at 1990 Nationals Grand Champion Gelding at 1993 Nationals “Jessica” was bred by us, broken in as a two year old and sent straight to Pony Club for 11 year old Katie to ride. Together they became an all-round formidable team excelling in all aspect of riding. Katie and “Jessica” amassed 726.5 AQHA points. “Jess” was a Youth Champion horse with 13 awards, was also National Palomino Horse of the Year for hacking, official Pony Club, campdrafting and sporting for consecutive years. Aboard “Jessica”, Katie had also won numerous awards including:2002 AQHA Runner-up Youth Category 2, Runner-up Campdraft 2005 AQHA Runner-up Youth Category 2 2006 AQHA National Youth Category 2, 2006 National Youth Sporting & Runner-up Campdraft “Jessica” was a great ambassador for both the AQHA and Pony Club Associations.
