His list of competition events is wide; campdrafting, cutting, working cow horse, roping, reining, barrel racing, halter, western pleasure, trail class and even endurance. His speciality was cutting. Often at shows, Eddie would miss Mingo, only to find his son, Stacey, giving the local children free rides. This remarkable temperament came through in his progeny.
Dell Mingo’ s record as a performance horse speaks for itself. With the AQHA he achieved some significant awards:

They were impressed and Keith quickly responded by selecting two of his best station mares and returned to New Frontier to deal with Eddie for services for the two mares. The resulting two foals, according the Keith, completely converted him to the Quarter Horse breed. It is believed many more AQHA members have been converted to the Quarter Horse breed by this stallion.
The Wilson’ s returned to the USA in 1975 and sold the stud to Keith and Judy Button. With it they acquired the stallions Dell Mingo and his stable mate Ann’ s Hollywood, Q-183. From knowing nothing about this new breed from the USA, Keith became very involved as Vice-President of the AHQA. He also served as President of the National Cutting Horse Association and finally as the Executive Officer of the Australian Bushmen’ s Campdraft and Rodeo Association( ABCRA).
Dell Mingo obtained the National Cutting Horse Certificate of Merit, Certificate of Ability and was inducted into the NCHA Hall of Fame in 1994.
Keith and Judy Button, living at Bendemeer, went to see what this new breed Quarter Horse stallion, which had come to their district, was all about. Keith recalls that he was“ solidly built, but by comparison, didn’ t have the heavy hindquarter of the
