YOUTH WORLD CUP TEAM

MEET THE TEAM ...

CHARLEY LALOR

I live in Rockhampton Queensland Horses have always been a big part of my life . I first started riding ponies and as the years went on I got a bigger horse , his name was Mischief .
He was a big part of my show life he taught me how to ride . Mischief won many national and state titles before we had to put him down due to cancer . Mischief also allowed me to qualify for the Youth World Show in 2019 . I had also be given the opportunity to own a reining horse his name was Elvis , he taught me how to show a reining horses and took me on to win national and state titles in the reining . Not long ago we brought this one in a million horse called Chevy .
He was a horse that taught me a lot as a young person . I started riding when I could walk . As I said above “ horses are a huge part of my life ”. I have not completed in the World Cup before . Chevy is the main man . He is my all round horse he does everything . George is my new little project he ’ s a Blacktie Gunner . George is coming around nicely to hopefully one day complete in the reining and cowhorse . I love all of the AQHA events , I really don ’ t have a favourite event , one event that I aspire to is Horsemanship , the elegance of the horse and rider combination . After being privileged to ride both reining and cowhorses , reining and cowhorse are two events that stand out to me the most with athleticism of the horses . I ’ m looking forward to showing and representing Australia a long side my sister and people that I ’ ve grown up with through my showing career so far . Something I will bring to the team is pride and joy to represent Australia ! One thing that you may not know about me is that I have completed a Cert 2 in automotive while at school and started a apprenticeship as a cert 3 light vehicle mechanic . I love cars specially the V8 s but it has to sound good . I love my friends and family .

CLARE NEYLON

I live on the Sunshine Coast in Queensland Horses have always been a big part of my life , seeing both my parents complete in the show pen I knew it was something I wanted to do .
. I have been riding reining horses since I was 3 and have competing with many horses over the years . I ’ ve never ridden in a World Cup , but I am very excited to represent our country . Over the past 4 years I have been showing Genie ( LILMISSGENIUS ). I won my first buckle on Genie in 2018 , since then Genie and I have grow together winning many state and national titles . Genie has recently been put into the breeding so I have been riding Bindi ( LILMISSNOITALL ).
I had my first show on her at PCRS a couple of weeks ago and we won 4 buckles at our first show together . Bindi is very well know in the reining pen with Mum , Dad and Warren Backhouse on board . My favourite AQHA event would have to be REINING as that is the main sport I do . I just love the adrenaline rush it gives when you run down the pen for a stop . The thing I am most looking forward to would be representing our country and meeting and competing along side people from other countries . Something I will bring to the team is pride in our country and in the sport that I love . One thing you may not know about me is that I have been a dancer for 13 years and I am classically trained in ballet and tap . I am also studying a cert 3 in performance horses through Australian equine institute . I am very grateful for the support of my family and friends .
