THE COMPACT POWERHOUSE WHO CAPTURED THE 2025 CANNING DOWNS CAMPDRAFT
The 2025 Warwick Gold Cup once again delivered the magic, grit, and horsemanship that make it one of Australia’ s most revered equine events. Among its highlights, the Ascot Cattle Co Canning Downs Campdraft continued its legacy of revealing champions destined for campdraft history. This year, that distinction belonged to a remarkable 13-yearold mare whose heart far outshone her size, delivering a performance that captured both the crowd’ s admiration and the judge’ s scores.
Adding to the achievements, Bill Carey secured the AQHA $ 1,000 Cash Incentive as the Highest Placed Owner of a Registered Australian Quarter Horse in a financial membership. Aboard the talented Crystal Park Smarty Catt( Q-77602)— affectionately known as“ Gidget”— the partnership rose above a field of more than 720 competitors to seize the 2025 Canning Downs title with an impressive 270 point aggregate.
As the dust settled over the Warwick Campdraft arena, one truth stood unmistakably clear: a mare bred with intention, started with care, trained with patience, and ridden with trust, had just etched her name into campdraft history.
