Tracey loves competing at major shows like Sizzler , Sun N Surf , NPHA , VIC State show and the National Quarter horse show , and says that the amazing friendships she ’ s formed have been phenomenal !
‘ We all have such a great time camping at the shows , with a lot of laughs . The Select Amateur competitors are so supportive , so the marshalling area is very pleasant . Competing at the 2020 and 2021 NPHA Shows in Sydney are among my most favourite memories , when I won the Novice Horse Ranch class — my first ever Ranch class win — and placed 6th in the Open Walk Trot from a class of nineteen . It was a tough class , and I ’ d only had Bailee a short while , so I was over the moon to place that high !’
The pair has been lucky enough to win State Champion in Showmanship , Ranch & Trail in various Victorian State Shows and at the 2022 Victorian State Show they competed in the Open Walk / Jog Trail to place third in a huge class of 43 horses , leaving Tracey ecstatic ! However , her proudest moment came during the 2022 National Quarter Horse show — their first Nationals .
‘ We received Reserve National Champion in a Showmanship class of 21 . We ’ d been training so hard , so it took quite a bit to hold back the tears when we were called out in 2nd place . I was so proud of Bailee . Sizzler 2023 was also a super show , where Bailee performed amazingly in all his events and we received great results . We were lucky enough to be awarded High Point Select Amateur , another very proud moment as Sizzler is considered one of the top shows in Australia .’
As one of the founders of the Shepparton Western Horse Club , an Improver club , Tracey still loves to volunteer her time there , as it ’ s where she began . She states that everyone needs a chance to start competing somewhere and feel comfortable and safe . Big Valley Quarter Horse Club , Benalla
