AQHA PRESIDENT REPORT- RICKY GLEN
Dear Members,
I hope this finds you all well and the major shows starting to wrap up, the breeding season is only a few months away and again for those with stallions or mares and foals due, the busy times will start again.
The board met in June in Brisbane to go through the budget for 2026 / 27 and each portfolio holder submitted their budgets and, in most cases, approval was given by the board for there requests.
Due to myself being unwell, I was not able to attend this meeting but thanks to Deputy president Kim Johnson for chairing this meeting in my absence.
Great news to see the youth memberships will be at no charge again for this coming year and under the direction of the youth portfolio holder, Liz Keating, they will be holding an auction coming up to raise more money for projects coming up.
No doubt you are all aware that the 2026 AGM and dinner will be held in Sydney this year and I look forward to seeing a lot of members there this year.
This is one of my last president reports as my 3rd year is ending in October this year and it has been a busy 3 years.
Overall, the AQHA is in a strong place financially and the growth in our industry continues to support this and this allows us to ensure funds are spent to promote the various aspects of our industry as done in the past.

Most of the other portfolios have plans in the pipeline for the coming year so details of these will no doubt be advised of soon.
