All classes that are to be offered at that show must be
listed on the program when applying for approval.
46.3 "AA” Approved Show or Program
a) Minimum $1000 mandatory prize money. This prize
money is to be paid out and split between at least five
(5) of the Open mandatory classes (excluding Cutting,
Youth & Amateur).
b) For a show to meet minimum requirements and have its
results recognised, there must be a minimum of twentyfour (24) registered Quarter Horses exhibited in
approved classes (i.e. throughout the whole show).
All classes that are to be offered at that show must be
listed on the program when applying for approval.
c) Beginner, Improver/Green Rider, Rookie or walk/jog
type classes, with the exception of Youth Lead Line and
Youth walk/jog, cannot be run at any “AA” approved
show or program that is run over two (2) days or less.
d) Minimum Mandatory Halter Classes
Minimum of twelve (12) Halter classes restricted to
Quarter Horses only registered with the AQHA:
Yearling Colt
2yo Colt
3yo Colt
4yo & Over Stallion
Champion and Reserve
Yearling Gelding
2yo Gelding
3yo Gelding
4yo & Over Gelding
Champion and Reserve
Yearling Filly
2yo Filly
3yo Filly

e) Minimum Mandatory Performance Classes
Western Pleasure, Hunter Under Saddle and Trail:
If two (2) classes are held, they are to be Senior and
Junior horse classes.
If three (3) classes are held from 1st August to 31st
December, they are to be Senior, Junior and Three (3)
year old classes.
From 1st January to 31st July, if only three (3) c lasses
are to be held they are to be Senior, Junior and either a
Three (3) year old or a Two (2) year old.
If four (4) classes are held, they are to be Senior,
Junior, Three (3) year old and Two (2) year old classes.
Reining:
If two (2) classes are held they are to be Senior and
Junior horse classes; or
If three (3) classes are held they are to be Senior,
Junior and Snaffle Bit/Hackamore.
Note: The arena surface for Reining at Approved
Shows, or programs, must be SAFE, being lightly
