Many of us are concerned about improving our students ’ pronunciation but never seem to find the right time , the right way or the right weight this training should take in our lessons . At last !
Prof . Patricia Arbona will be offering a new approach to pronunciation teaching .
Drama and pronunciation teaching . The hows and whys .
The basic premise is that , through drama , pronunciation teaching becomes more effective , because various components of communicative competence ( discourse intonation , pragmatic awareness , nonverbal communication ) can be practised in an integrated way .
This presentation will introduce participants into the world of sounds in connected speech and will engage them in a series of practical and energizing drama based activities that will allow them to teach pronunciation more creatively .
