There is a new club in school and its called the model UN. In Model UN you come and argue about a large issue in the world from a certain countries point of view on the matter, you get to pick what country you want to represent and you can be in groups to form your chosen country or on your own.
The sort of topics that they are disusing are the Syrian civil war, The Global Trade Wars, Climate Change, and any other large issue facing the world at the minute. People start off by giving an idea of what they want to do about the issue from their country ' s point of view then others can agree / disagree with the idea or argue against it / make a point about the idea( from their country ' s view on the issue). Ater that every country votes whether they agree or disagree with the solution that person has come up with( for their country).
It is a good place to learn about what is happening in the world, Being in a model UN looks good on a CV and most importantly it is good fun.
The club is on a Monday Lunchtime( Bring your Lunch) in Room 232( Miss McClymonts Room) and is open to anyone from any year group. On your first time going feel free just to watch what ' s going on to get an idea of what ' s happening or get involved.
