Welcome to Hospitality Industry Careers Fair Prince ’ s Trust Dumfries House
Eleven students from S3-6 attended the “ Welcome to Hospitality ” Careers Fair at Dumfries House . Students took part in a range of activities and demonstrations including Culinary Arts , Barista service , Butler service , Food Science and Hospitality management . Experts , including Diageo , MacDonald Hotels and Buzzworks provided panel talks and careers advice on how to secure employment within the industry .
Scottish Apprenticeship Week ( 6-10 March 2023 )
Marr College Guidance Team and SDS Careers Adviser Gemma promoted Scottish Apprenticeship Week ( 6-10 March ) to parents and pupils by raising awareness of the Unlocking Potential Theme this year . Information session in PSE for pupils in S4-6 , provided insight into the fantastic career opportunities available by completing a Foundation , Modern or Graduate Apprenticeship . Parents were recognised as key influencers , and benefitted from careers guidance webinars including “ How to apply for a Scottish Apprenticeship ” and “ How to have meaningful career conversations ”. One inspirational highlight for the Marr community , came from # Scotappweek23 feature about former student , Charley Urquhart , who shared her apprenticeship journey as a 1st Year Trainee Site Manager at Taylor Wimpey !
