The Church Turned into a Temple Thirty people, including the priest, converted back to Hinduism
In the tribal-majority Sodladudha village, located approximately 60 kilometers from the district headquarters of Banswara, Rajasthan, near the border with Madhya Pradesh and Gujarat, a church has been converted into a temple. More than thirty individuals, who had earlier converted to Christianity due to illegal religious conversion, have now returned to Hinduism. On March 9, a statue of Lord Bhairav was installed at the site, which had been transformed from a church into a temple following traditional rituals.
It is noteworthy that about 45 families in Sodladudha village, which lies in the Ganga Datalai Panchayat area of Banswara district, had converted to Christianity many years ago. This wasn’ t just limited to this village, as many other families in surrounding areas had also embraced Christianity. Most of the families that converted were Dalits or from the tribal community. Over time, these families became disillusioned with Christianity and sought to return to Hinduism. With the help of the Bharat Mata Temple Project, supported by the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh( RSS) and the Vishwa Hindu Parishad, efforts were made to encourage these families to re-embrace Hinduism.
