Woodward Elementary PTO ' s Eventful Spring Calendar Promises Fun and Learning for Students
The Woodward Elementary Parent-Teacher Organization ( PTO ) kicked off the spring season with its highly anticipated annual Cash BINGO and raffle baskets fundraiser on February 3rd . The event , wellattended and successful , generated funds aimed at sending students on enriching field trips . Kindergarten plans to visit the Lewisburg Children ’ s Museum in April , while the First and Second Grades will explore Reptile Land in March and May . The Third Grade is set for a journey to Discovery Science in State College in May , and the Fourth Grade will enjoy a tour of Lock Haven in May .
Looking ahead , Woodward Elementary has a series of engaging events lined up for the coming months . On March 7th , the school will host its Annual Title I Family Literacy Night and Book Bingo from 6:30- 7:30pm . This coincides with the celebration of Read Across America Week ( March 4-7 ), featuring special guests like Superintendent Redmon and the LHU Soccer Team , who will be participating in various reading activities throughout the week .
May will be a month full of excitement at Woodward Elementary . On May 9th , the PTO will hold its final meeting of the year , focusing on officer elections and planning for the 2024-2025 budget . Volunteers are sought to help plan the September Homecoming Parade , where Woodward Elementary has a three year winning streak to defend .
On May 16th , the school will welcome author Alan St . Jean to the Student Showcase , unveiling a new book , song , and video . Students are actively preparing project displays , and the event promises a fair-like atmosphere with community and family businesses , a Spring Book Fair , and various engaging activities .
May 22nd will mark Career Day at Woodward Elementary , an event coordinated by school counselor Mrs . Bonnie Owens . Students will have the opportunity to interact with various professionals , gaining insights into different careers .
Closing out the school year on May 24th is the Annual Field Day , where students will participate in physical activity challenges , fostering teamwork and physical well-being .
Woodward Elementary is gearing up for a spring season filled with educational adventures , community engagement , and memorable experiences for students and families alike . The calendar is brimming with events that promise to make the end of the school year both enriching and fun for both students and staff .
