Attend upcoming concert April 21 1982 was a long time ago .
The Charbonneau community has had long-term commitment to the arts since that year , which marked the beginning of a volunteer movement to support local
MCLAIN artists by organizing an arts festival here in Charbonneau . From the stories and legends I ’ ve heard , there were several resident painters and crafters who put on an Arts and Crafts Fair to showcase local talent that eventually evolved into the Charbonneau Festival of the Arts . This year will be the 40th annual Festival of the Arts at Charbonneau , put on by a host of more than 100 volunteers , displaying art from painters , fine crafters , photographers , jewelers and sculptors . The original small group of artists and volunteers has grown into a formal 501 ©( 3 ) nonprofit corporation , the Charbonneau Arts Association ( CAA ).

The Charbonneau Music Stage Concerts continues with a performance from Southern Nights Country Western Band April 21 .
We have raised funds each year to support the Wilsonville and Canby High School teachers and student programs . Some CAA volunteer board members are artists in their own right , and other board members are art lovers who want to support the arts in Charbonneau as well as student artists . The Charbonneau Country Club ( CCC ) Board of Directors and staff are fully engaged with CAA volunteers to make this festival a success . for Oct . 11-13 , the 40th Annual Festival of the Arts @ Charbonneau . All proceeds from this event will fund grants to local high school fine art teachers .
Music Stage Concerts : April 21 will be the next event on the schedule at the Charbonneau Clubhouse , featuring Southern Nights Country Western Band . Led by Charbonneau ’ s own Wayne Richards , award-winning songwriter and “ consummate performer and storyteller ,” the event will be a toe-tapper . The music will be preceded by a complimentary line dancing class led by Kat Nichols , and then a buffet provided by the Market Café , so by the time the music starts you ’ ll be ready to dance the night away in the Fireplace Room . Tickets went on sale in March , and details will continue to be provided via email news to residents .
Organizing concerts is a joint effort of CCC ’ s Jim Meierotto and Brooke Dickenson in concert with the CAA ’ s music stage organizing committee ( MSOC ). Jim and Brooke have provided additional focus on creating a cabaret or bistro setting that has garnered very positive feedback from residents attending the recent Bottleneck Blues Band concert .
Both Jim and Brooke are also performers in their own right but have not yet been

convinced to jump on the stage , yet . Other resident musicians serving on the committee include Wayne Richards and Dwaine Wisthoff , both of whom are performing on stage this year , as well as helping to find superior quality musical acts to fill the schedule . With this joint CCC and CAA committee , residents will never be far from an opportunity to enjoy and appreciate the performing arts in Charbonneau . � May 19 – Oregon Old Time Fiddlers Association ; American Hoedown , and free educational workshops ( bring your guitar and mandolin )

� Oct . 11-13 – Festival of the Arts @ Charbonneau
� Dec . 8 – Big Horn Brass & Canby Jazz Band joint concert
