YOUNG MEMBERS CORNER
The Younger Members had a successful Happy Hour at Stark Brewery in Manchester this April . Beer was enjoyed by all and discussions about the current state of engineering were had .
We had ASCE members from Granite Engineering , GEI , and GPI . Discussions about site civil and geotechnical engineering were prolific , as was the beer .
The YM group will continue the longstanding tradition of the monthly HAPPY HOUR . The next upcoming happy hour will be Thursday May 12th so mark your calendars . The topic of the evening will be environmental consciousness within civil engineering . As engineers we make decisions every day on where we are designing and planning projects and what type of materials we use . Whether you work in the structural , civil , or environmental world , we all have an impact on the world around us and its our responsibility as engineers to ensure we perform our work in a sustainable manner . Hopefully we can share some ideas about sustainability each of us can bring back new ideas to our respective offices . We hope to see you at the next happy hour !
