Karen Santilli is President and CEO of

Crossroads Rhode Island , the state ' s leading provider of housing and services to families and individuals who are homeless in Rhode Island . After a 20-year career with Plan USA , she joined Crossroads in 2008 as Vice President of Marketing and Development . In 2013 she was promoted to Chief Marketing and Strategy Officer and in June 2015 became President and CEO .
Karen is a leader in the area of ending homelessness in our state , serving as a bridge to connect those in need with those who can help . She is dedicated to serving families and individuals who are homeless and is passionate about advocating for women . She has broken new ground to lead social change in order to improve the lives of others and has been instrumental in helping hundreds of families and individuals secure stable homes .
In January 2021 , Karen was named by Providence Business News as one of Rhode Island ' s top ten most influential leaders for Crossroads ' work in ending homelessness during the pandemic . She received the YWCA Rhode Island ' s Women of Achievement award in 2018 and was named by Providence Business News as the 2015 Women in Business Leader for non-profit services . The RI Chapter of the Association for Fundraising Professionals also honored Karen as their 2011 Fundraising Professional of the Year .

A graduate of Leadership Rhode Island , she serves on the board of Sophia Academy , is a trustee of the Providence Foundation , served as a treasurer of the Rhode Island Public Transit Authority and is a member of the Greater Providence Chamber of Commerce .
