[phone] x817 e-mail: [email protected] Earth Day recycling event to focus on Businesses and the General Public The Tuesday, April 22 event is sponsored by the Chamber of Commerce, the EDC, the Energy Watch Partnership, VTC Enterprises and the City of Santa Maria B usinesses are urged to use this day to get rid of recycling and hazardous waste items. VTC Enterprises will accept e-waste items, like computers and monitors, standard recycling items, and documents for shredding. A free coupon will be provided for businesses and individuals to take hazardous waste to the landfill at no cost. These items include paint, fluorescent lights and batteries, among other items. The hazardous waste area will be open specifically for this day. They are not usually open but will provide this service for this Earth Day event. At the VTC site, there will be refreshments, give-aways, and informational booths. Everyone is welcome to attend.
