NEWSLETTER Page 3 APRIL 2014 Santa Maria Valley Chamber of Commerce & Visitor and Convention Bureau www.santamaria.com Vandenberg Small Business Event in Santa Maria draws hundreds B usiness representatives from all over the state and from other states as well, converged on the Veterans Memorial Building in Santa Maria for the Vandenberg Air Force Base Small Business Outreach Event. Over 400 people registered for the event with over half coming from outside the area. Attendees learned how to qualify for bids on the base and how to do business with the Federal Government. They also learned how to subcontract with existing companies that need their products and services. Representatives from Vandenberg, GSA, the Small Business Administration, InDyne, Veterans Services and many others gave presentations and talked one-on-one with interested participants. The event was sponored by the Chamber of Commerce and Economic Development Commission. The Visitor and Convention Bureau assisted, and the facility was provided by the City of Santa Maria’s Recreation and Parks Department.
