Royalty: Bridget Behrns Bridget presented the 2025 Royalty Committee Budget.
Motion was made by Dustin Heck, seconded by Paul Hansen, to approve the 2025 Royalty Committee Budget as presented. Motion carried unanimously.
Bridget is asking for approval of the Royalty Contest Awards for 2025. The award of $ 500 to the club who’ s queen titles on coronation day was discussed. Board members felt that it doesn’ t draw any additional contestants and that maybe it would be a bigger draw if that money was distributed directly to the queens who title. This would mean the Queen would win $ 2000, the princess would win $ 1,500, and Ms. Horsemanship, Ms. Games, & Ms. Congeniality would each win $ 1,150.
Motion was made by James Duenow, seconded by Lori Taylor, to approve the 2025 Royalty Contest incentives, with Bridget reallocating the funds as mentioned above. Motion carried unanimously.
Rulebook: Cindy Ladd
Cindy distributed rulebooks to each board member. The cost of the rulebook was discussed, with attention to the cost of mailing and increase in printing. Majority of rulebooks are picked up in person, and $ 5 per book makes change easy.
Motion made by Karson Duncanson, seconded James Duenow, to continue to charge $ 5 per book, but charge an additional $ 5 if the rulebook has to be mailed. Motion carried unanimously.
Sandy asked for reimbursement for cost of printing 2025-2027 rulebooks.

-The Horse Protection Act- Lynn heard back from the attorney for MN Horse Council. There is contact information now available from USDA for reporting. At this point, pleasure shows are expected to be reporting. The attorney has asked about the possibility of WSCA being able to report for their clubs, waiting to hear back on that. WSCA will continue to keep clubs updated. As of now, April 1 st is the deadline to report July 1 st shows.
-2025 Royalty Banquet- Julia presented the 2024 Awards Banquet budget to help determine if WSCA should move forward with the banquet for 2025. The banquet received a lot of positive feedback, and was a great event to help promote and raise money for WSCF. It was a great event to socialize with WSCA members. The banquet was also a great way to celebrate our Adaptive Riding participants.
