BOARD OF DIRECTORS MEETING February 5th, 2025 7:00 PM American Legion, Chaska, MN MINUTES

Meeting was called to order by Lynn-Ellen St. Martin at 7:00PM Public Open Comment: None Secretary’ s Report: Liz Bauer
Motion made by James Duenow, seconded by Karson Duncanson to approve the January 8tth, 2024, Board Meeting Minutes. Motion carried unanimously.
Treasurer’ s Report: Arlene Bayer absent. Report given by Liz Bauer
As of January 31st, 2024 Checking $ 144,028.43 CD’ s-Minnco CU $ 70,008.64

Balance Sheet and Income Statement was presented, YTD Net Income( Loss) is($ 1,032.50) and LYTD Net Income( Loss) was($ 400.52).
Motion made by Lori Taylor, seconded by Amber Duncanson, to approve the January 31st, 2025 treasurer’ s report subject to audit. Motion carried unanimously.
Correspondence: 143 memberships received to date, this time last year we were at 146. It was asked if we had a way to get an updated total of members. Liz will try to get numbers after the May 31 st membership deadline. General meeting postcard will be mailed out soon. The saddle club listing has been updated on the WSCA. org website.
Committee Reports: Championship Horse Show: James Duenow
Ribbons have been ordered, with just under a 5 % increase in cost. The committee is working through property arrangements at Simon’ s. Setting up a meeting with Mark and Ryan, to discuss vendors. The showbill has went out and received positive feedback. For the adaptive riding classes at champ show, Dustin shared that he has been in contact with a local company that would be willing to manufacture the safety steps / ramp at no cost, if we covered the cost of materials. The estimate for material cost was just over $ 1000.
Motion was made by James Duenow, seconded by Karson Duncanson, that WSCA will cover the cost of materials for the safety steps / ram with the understanding that if a group comes forward and wants to help sponsor it, we would welcome that. Motion passed unanimously.
Dustin Heck agreed to be responsible for storing / transporting the safety steps.
