WORKSHOPS building a solid foundation

Attend one or more of our workshops being held April 24-26 . Half day workshops offered in the morning will start at 8:00 a . m . and afternoon workshops will start at 1:00 p . m . Benchmarking Skills for Knowledge Management ( Full Day Offered on April 25 ) This workshop will teach participants a four-phased benchmarking methodology ( plan , collect , analyze , and adapt / report ), with associated tools and templates , for conducting and participating in benchmarking studies . APQC will also share best practices and lessons learned gleaned from its more than 35 years conducting and participating in successful benchmarking studies .
Building a Business Case for Knowledge Management ( Full Day Offered on April 25 ) This workshop focuses on helping KM leaders and managers develop a firm understanding of how to build a business case for KM that will engage leadership . The workshop will emphasize the key components of the business case , such as the problem statement , scope , objectives , and the opportunity . The materials and collaborative activities will allow participants to leverage best practices from APQC ’ s years of work and research in KM .
Communities of Practice I : Align to Strategy and Plan CoP Approach ( 1 / 2 Day Offered on April 24 A . M .) Based on APQC ’ s CoP Framework , this workshop will focus on tips and techniques to plan the organization ’ s CoP strategy and to ensure alignment to the enterprise business strategy . Participants will take advantage of the lessons learned , use proven implementation tools and approaches , and build on others ’ successes and best practices to get started with communities of practice in their organization .
Communities of Practice II : Design , Launch , and Sustain Your CoPs ( 1 / 2 Day Offered on April 24 P . M .) Focusing on the third ( design and launch ) and fourth ( sustain and evolve ) phases of APQC ’ s CoP Framework , this workshop will teach techniques and tips to design , launch , and sustain CoPs . Whether the organization is new to CoPs or has established CoPs , this workshop offers best practices and tips for starting and / or reinvigorating CoPs , leveraging best practices from advanced practitioners from APQC ’ s research .
ExperienceChange : A Year of Experience in One Day ( Full Day Offered on April 26 ) In teams , participants will lead a change initiative from analysis to planning and implementation all within an engaging , low-risk simulation experience . This expertguided workshop enables participants to engage with the behaviors , tools , and skill sets that make change happen . Attendees will leave with the confidence , process , and practice to immediately start leading change and making an impact .
Knowledge Management Strategy I : Creating a Call to Action and Developing a KM Strategy ( 1 / 2 Day Offered on April 24 A . M .) Based on APQC ’ s Knowledge Management Framework , this workshop focuses on taking organizations through the first two phases of the framework : creating a call to action for KM , and developing an associated KM strategy that is aligned to organizational strategy . This session leverages APQC ’ s Levels of Knowledge Management Maturity℠ as the foundation for creating and managing processes that help knowledge flow to the right people at the right time so they can act on it and impact organizational performance . Workshop participants will leave the session with the beginnings of a KM strategy for their organization .
