Apprenticeship Evaluation Report 2024 - 2025 | Page 28

Recipients The recipients of this programme were all colleges within the SUN region( Dorset, Hampshire and the Isle of Wight) who had a SUN Progression Mentor to allow the training of SUN staff to deliver directly to the relevant students within the college or facilitate a member of the SUN delivery team to deliver a workshop.
All schools currently in receipt of the Uni Connect programme, were made aware of the programme and invited to book through direct emails and meetings with staff. However, due to the funding for this programme being in addition to the core funding received by SUN, it meant this programme could be opened up to all schools within the SUN region, which enabled four additional Dorset based schools to access the programme.
For the colleges, workshops were either delivered as part of the core careers programme or as part of tutor sessions. However, health related courses were also targeted, especially for the Health Degree apprenticeship workshop.
The CPD programme was advertised through the core SUN CPD programme, with direct emails going to relevant staff in schools and colleges for the inperson session.
Finance / Cost
The funding was approved in April 2024. The summer term was then spent creating the content and resources for the workshops and the delivery of the programme was throughout the academic year of 2024-25, in line with the funding timeline. This also included liaison with the NHS Degree apprenticeship team and the staff at the University of Portsmouth.
The overall funding envelope for the SUN apprenticeship programme was £ 87,000, split evenly between the three degree apprenticeship areas; nursing, paramedic science and diagnostic radiography.
