Have you identified any additional learning you, or wider colleagues, need for this activity / project to be more successful?
Pre 16: Continued research of the apprenticeship sector as updates are made to apprenticeships such as the minimum wage and new guidance for employing apprentices. This would be the responsibility of the project lead to make necessary updates to the content of the workshop / CPD and then disseminate the updates to the rest of the delivery team.
Post 16: Through leading this project, it’ s become clear that there’ s still more to learn— not just for me, but for the wider team involved. One key area is the need for ongoing research and up-to-date information about Degree Apprenticeships, especially around the more detailed aspects like application processes and sector-specific pathways( such as healthcare). Keeping the content current will help everyone feel more confident when delivering the workshops and answering students’ questions. I’ ve also noticed that some SPMs felt a bit hesitant because they weren’ t sure how best to engage students or handle questions about the complexity of Degree Apprenticeships. So, providing more ongoing support and training focused on delivery techniques and managing student expectations could make a big difference. Maybe some peer-sharing sessions or refresher workshops could help build that confidence across the team.
