THE COUTURE STORY
‘Chantrealle’ by Ohaila Khan is inspired by the
folds of the wild mushroom, its complexity and

The colour palette is inspired from the depths of
mushroom forests—think pastel blush moving into
deeper rose golds and reds, maroon offset against
forest greens as well as jewel tones with sombre
greys and blacks. Silk organza, tulle, and georgette
with a mix of sheer and opaque elements form key
fabrics of the collection.
Chantrealle is imbued with a mix of European
and Middle Eastern aesthetics, consisting of many
tonal stories, appliqué-on-appliqué work, coupled
with ribbon-fabric manipulation. At the same time,
beading and hand-embellishments are used to
fashion couture garments that are fit for both gala
balls and weddings. Featuring a range of gowns,
voluminous skirts, cascading capes, and sleeves, the
collection is an exquisite coming-together of Eastern
and Western design sensibilities.
