FUELLING THE FESTIVE FERVOUR
As the festive season comes close at hand, we handpick designer collections that are sure to
add to the mood of the celebratory times.
STRAIGHT OUT OF A DREAM
Titled ‘Ardor’, Masumi Mewawalla’s Pink
Peacock Couture unveiled its all-new collection
at Lakmé Fashion Week’s Winter Festive edit.
It is inspired by Art Deco and Art Nouveau
styles, and is high on symmetry. Soft hues of
whites, rose pinks, rust, and olive green lend
the collection a dreamy feel that is enhanced by
delicately embroidered motifs.
The line consists of tie-up shirt blouses,
sheer pant saris, trapeze gowns, and jackets,
while elaborate bows and trains evoke a sense
of vintage romance. The collection’s bold and
strong lines compel the eye to linger long on
each design, all while transitioning between art
and modern couture.

FOR THE MODERN-DAY MAN
Ideal for new-age grooms, Kunal Rawal’s most
recent collection speaks of tradition and versatility.
Titled ‘Confluence’, this range is where the worlds
of grunge, rock-and-roll, and military rodeo come
together seamlessly.
Deconstructed silhouettes take centre stage in
this line, enhanced by utilitarian cuts and motifs
such as rocket roses. On the other hand, the
collection also draws on heritage Indian handloom
archives, which find form in kurta overshirts.
The line boasts an array of digital prints,
embroideries, metal detailing, distressed
elements, and texture plays, juxtaposed against
a colour palette of cobalt blues, rust reds, mints,
and pinks that find their place in bandhgalas,
sherwanis, waistcoasts, and tailored bottoms.
