REPORT FOR THE FIRST TIME, THE FAIR HOUSED A FASHION JOB WALL FEATURING JOB OPPORTUNITIES AVAILABLE AT VARIOUS TOP EXPORT HOUSES, FASHION BRANDS, ETC. Birth Anniversary year celebrations of Mahatma Gandhi, a special area dedicated to the Father of the Nation was established at the Fair venue. A thematic area was created by Pros & Pros, Mumbai, with the help of the Apparel Training & Design Centre (ATDC), LIVA, and Woven and Knit, wherein garments for Spring Summer 2020 adorned Barbie dolls. These dainty dolls were displayed on a podium made of corrugated boards. Apart from the podium, the furniture placed in the theme area, too, was crafted from corrugated boards. IGFA brought out a Daily Bulletin on all the three days of the Fair, which covered the various events day-wise, carried feedback from the Buyers and Participants, along with views of various Dignitaries visiting the Fair. With a view to increase the share of exports of Apparel and fashion accessories in the Japanese market, IGFA chose Japan as the ‘Focused Country’ during the 63rd IIGF. As a special gesture, IGFA provided Japanese Buyers with airfare and complementary hotel stay. A total number of 60 Japanese Buyers visited the Fair. For the first time, the Fair housed a Fashion Job wall featuring job opportunities available at various top export houses, fashion brands, etc., 26 I APPAREL I September 2019 and was displayed by Fashion Network, France, through a barter agreement. Complimentary stalls were given to the publishers of Apparel Views, Inside Fashion, Fashion Wings, Urbiz, Igmatex, and Fashion Era on a barter basis. Stalls were also allotted to the Textiles Committee, India International Knit Fair, ATDC, and Thomas Cook on a barter basis. All in all, the 63rd IIGF was a splendid event that witnessed an encouraging turnout.
