Preparations for fresh collection of yarns for A / W’ 19 are underway and Vardhman has started making presentation of the same at several platforms, including national exhibitions. As a regular participant at various exhibitions, the company is constantly presenting something new and their booth is among the most appreciated for the variety that is on display. Representing the Yarn Division of Vardhman at many fairs, Roopali opines,“ Exhibitions give us an opportunity to communicate with the industry on a one-on-one basis; to present them our collections and also to hear from them what they are looking for. It is important for mills to be updated with not only the international forecast, but also what the industry is asking for.” Among the latest innovations, the two concepts that Roopali is very excited about is in mélanges – Themed Medley and Pylon. Collection of Medley is being inspired by the colour palette of natural waves on sea surface at sunset time; and Pylon on geometric patterns with vintage / brick wall shades. Another set of yarns that Vardhman is bringing to the table is the hand-spun collection that replicates the look of Khadi.“ These new offerings have been appreciated by the industry and it helps them to further convert the yarn into interesting fabric and garments. line with requirements of Fair Trade, Organic and BCI. In fact, Vardhman is among the first textile mills to adapt sustainable practices and declare it as a growth engine for the future.
Interestingly, Roopali does not agree that with most of the textile companies now investing in R & D, the competition has got tighter. In fact, she opines that the market is now much more dynamic and companies are constantly on their toes, which will uplift the industry to global standards.“ Every company has understood that the industry is looking for innovation and it is a combination of quality, service and regular R & D that will attract buyers. The old system of manufacturing standard products season after season cannot give a company growth,” says Roopali. This thought process has perpetuated from the top management and has become the business ethos for all. No wonder, Vardhman has many buyer nominations which speak volumes about the company’ s reputation as an innovator.
The yarns business, at Vardhman textiles represents the largest strategic business unit of the Group with over 1.1 million spindles and a capacity to manufacture over 580 MT of yarn per day. Besides being a leading player in India, the company is also one of the largest exporters of cotton yarn to the most quality-conscious markets of the EU, USA and the Far East.
