The Mumbai-based fashion recommerce start-up, which works on C2C business model, raised US $ 1 million last year in April as part of its pre-Series-A funding. The round was led by Jadevalue Fintech, the investment arm of Chinese unicorn CashBUS, while existing investors including Artha India Ventures and Venture Catalysts too participated in the round. T he online social marketplace for India’s co- operatives and rural enterprises, GoCoop is working with more than 70,000 producers and aims to impact a million weavers and artisans in the next three years. The start-up which aims to be the Amazon and Flipkart for handloom and handicrafts, was started in 2011 by Siva Devireddy, but established its online presence in 2012. The Bangalore-based start-up raised an amount of US $ 8,30,000 in Series-A funding in 2016. The investment was secured by Infosys Co-founder Kris Gopalakrishnan and Saha Fund. The existing investors Unitus Seed Fund and Indian Angel Network also participated in the round. It had also raised US $ 2,90,000 from existing investors, Splice Capital and a bunch of individual investors. 17 T I Z I VA M E he lingerie e-tailing brand Zivame was founded in 2011 by Richa Kar. The brand has so far raised about US $ 50 million from investors such as Kalaari Capital, Zodius Technology Fund, Unilazer Ventures, IDG Ventures India, Ratan Tata and Malaysia’s Khazanah Nasional Bhd. The start- up is run by Bengaluru-based Actoserba Active Wholesale. In recent times, it has been witnessing reshuffling at its top level, followed by even the Founder Richa Kar, who stepped away from the daily business operations in January 2017, after which Shaleen Sinha was roped in. 18 ndian womens’ workwear start-up Ombre Lane was launched by sister duo Shweta and Prachi Sharma in May 2017. The start-up has received seed funding from a group of angel investors. The investment group includes ex-LinkedIn India CEO Akshay Kothari; LinkedIn General Counsel Aditi Jha, and Director at Bristol-Myers Squibb, US, Neeraja Balachander. The formalwear brand was started with an investment of less than Rs. 50 lakh and offers a variety of western styles designed specifically for the Indian woman.
