Kinder who has been with Nike for more than two decades, has been named successor of Hannah Jones, who moves on as head of the Nike business incubator program, named President of Nike Valiant Labs, (earlier known as Nike Innovation Accelerator). Raymond Uco Denim, Nahar Group and CIEL Textile join ZDHC programme Mumbai-based Raymond Uco Denim; Ludhiana-based Nahar Group of Companies, CIEL Textile, are amongst the nine new contributors that have committed to the Zero Discharge of Hazardous Chemical (ZDHC) programme. Raymond Uco Denim has set up an ETP plant where 80 per cent of the used water is recycled and reused to help group the plantations on the green belt. The plant is designed to treat all the internal processes with the recycled water in an attempt to reduce the liquid discharge from the plant. Earlier, textile giant Arvind Limited joined the ZDHC programme to fulfil its aim of eliminating harmful chemicals across its supply chain by the year 2020. Ciel Textiles, a vertically integrated apparel manufacturer located in Mauritius and Italian textile company Albini Group, are other renowned names that have made to the list of ZDHC. ZDHC will now assist these companies in reducing the environmental impacts in the production processes. With the addition of nine new companies, the total number of contributors to ZDHC Roadmap accounts to 107 which includes 24 signatory brands, 67 value chain associates and 16 associates. ZDHC group is working on to guide the companies towards an aim of reducing the harmful chemicals discharge to zero by the year 2020. The leading apparel and footwear brands that are already affiliated with the group include H&M, Gap. Inc., Inditex, Benetton, Adidas and C&A.
