EU apparel import plunges in March;
rebounds in Q1 ’18
January to March 2018
Apparel imports by 28-nations bloc EU have fallen in March this year. However, EU clearly shows sign of recovery
in the first quarter over the last year. China has continued losing shares in the European market, whereas
Bangladesh has consistently gone up due to fall of the taka; therefore, the country capitalised on the low unit
prices and absorbed the shift from the Chinese market during the first quarter of 2018.
