Riding high on sustainability efforts , Premier Fine Linens has successfully partnered with some major brands around the world . “ Sustainability is very important for us and we are putting a lot of emphasis on it , in fact , 100 % of our production happens on green energy that ’ s generated from windmill , almost 99 % water is recycled through water treatment and we have also implemented solar panels wherever it ’ s possible to utilise solar energy ,” shares Kumaravel . “ In past couple of years , market has been a little rough . Retailers have been hard-hitting in terms of price negotiations , so we have been keeping a close eye on costs . We supply mainly to the US and have noticed that a lot of business is moving to India from Pakistan and China , so prices of raw material is going up in India .”

organic products are concerned the company is certified by control union for GOTS . “ We are following all the stringent guidelines , like we collect the transaction certificate from the spinner which confirms that the yarn is organic . Similarly when the spinner buys cotton , he collects a certificate as well so eventually at every step , the product is verified , and that ’ s how we control the transaction . Now , we are trying to get Oeko-Tex Eco Passport and Made-in-Green certification ,” adds Kumaravel .
The Premier Group of companies comprises of 7 spinning units ( around 4,00,000 spindles ), 2 weaving mills of 140 looms , including airjets , dobbies and jacquard looms . The Group boasts of dyeing and finishing capacity of 1,00,000 metres per day and finally made-ups with a capacity of around 4,00,000 sheet sets per month , that are consumed globally . “ We specialise in 100 % cotton products with factories around Coimbatore . We do bed linens made of satin , dobby , jacquard , percale , yarn dyed in a range of thread counts from 200 to 1250 using both plied or single yarns with embellishments like faggoting , marrowing , fancy hems and embroidery on made-ups . We also offer an exquisite range of table linen ,” shares Kumaravel . Premier excels at superior quality customised orders , offering exquisite machine quilted duvets and shams , intricate

machine embroidery on silk blends and cotton . All products are examined in the company ’ s own quality control laboratory to ensure that the company provides the global market with the finest home fashion merchandise . Kumaravel says , “ All the raw material is sourced from various parts of the world like Egyptian cotton and Supima cotton from the US and rest of it comes from various approved sellers within the country .”
The company ’ s manufacturing facilities are in compliance to global standards and technologies used are most updated . The company has also invested in ETON unit production systems and Parker Hauser fabric cutting machines and is controlling all its operations by tailor made most efficient ERP systems in order to increase productivity and efficiency . Premier follows a 100 per cent quality check system at different levels of the supply chain . “ Throughout the system and in production , we use only approved dyes and chemicals that are not harmful to nature and in compliance with Oeko-Tex 100 . Premier is also certified with ISO 14001 and OHSAS 18001 for environmental care and safety measures , respectively . For quality , we have checks right from cutting onwards .
