SSKH Textile Industries, just 5 years old Mumbai-based organization, is expanding its wide horizons across the value chain. The company, which is into yarn and fibre trading, fabric, apparel and home furnishing manufacturing recently, added a new factory for shirt manufacturing. With the investment of Rs. 5 crore, this new factory can produce 30,000 shirts per month. Majorly into exports, the company is ready to take on domestic market also with more products. Kailash Agarwal, MD, SSKH Textile Industries shared with Apparel Online:“ For export, we have a wide product basket and offer most of the product categories in apparel segment. But in domestic, where we are comparatively new, casual shirts were missing. Since casual shirts are now being allowed in offices also, so its demand is growing. That is why we also started this product, and the new factory is dedicated to casual shirt manufacturing only.” Sharing about future plans, he added that manufacturing of Chinos and later formal pant and shirts, ladies top and tunics, etc. are also on the card, but it may take some time. Kailash Agarwal worked till 30 years for Sutlej Textiles and Industries Ltd.; established greenfield and brownfield projects and left the group in 2013 as Jt. Executive President. He says,“ I want to do my own and to give a strong platform to my son, Harshul, who is also into the business from last five years.”

Quantum Knits, a unit of KPR Mills, Coimbatore won the Best Supplier of the Year award from Kmart Australia. The award was given at the global supplier event in Hong Kong. Dhanabalan S, VP – Garment Exports, Quantum Knits received the award from Ian Bailey, MD, Kmart Australia and Arjun Puri, GM-Sourcing, Kmart Australia Sourcing( KSA). There were nearly 95 suppliers of Kmart Australia in this event from China, Vietnam, Cambodia, Indonesia, Bangladesh and India as only top suppliers were invited. Quantum
Knits outdid all of them and won the award. On timely delivery, quality, ethical compliance were the main parameters for this award and Quantum Knits scored 98 per cent or above on these parameters.

KPR Mills is continuously moving forward as recently it almost doubled its dyeing capacity. During the third quarter( October to December 2017); it earned a revenue of Rs. 642.44 crore from operations, while in second quarter( July to September 2017) the same was Rs. 616.53 crore.
