categories for their next season.
“There are quite a lot of things
that interested us. In the retail
segment, there is a lot of focus
on comfort for the customers and
that’s where the innovation has
happened, be it various types
of stretches or climate-friendly
fabric, and the collection shown
by the company has everything,”
said Biyani.
Among all the fabrics
presented, the functional
range was a major
attraction for all, the buying
offices in particular, as they
felt that it would widen the
possibilities of collections
from the country. Also,
the fact that the S/S ’19
collection was bang on target
as per international forecast
was a major appreciation
point. “A great initiative
with lots of new innovation
in terms of renewable fabric
and performance attributes.
Great to see that the fabrics
Rakesh Biyani, JMD, Future Group (3rd from left) with the team of Vardhman and Future Group
and designs were spot on
trend driven,” averred Rajat
Bartwal of Triburg. Anu
Arora, Manager, Sourcing
& Production, Uniqlo, India
Liaison Office was very happy
to see the mix of fabrics
in such a large range of
categories, “Not many mills
can actually put this type of
display together, which is a
delight for any retailer. What
really excited me was the
functional range and options
for ladies’ top and men’s shirt
like viscose using lenzing yarn,
which is our current focus,”
shared Anu.
