The Sweden-based childrenswear brand Newbie, owned by fashion retailer KappAhl and launched way back in 2010, has announced its plans to launch two more stores in the UK in April this year. Notably, Newbie caters to today’ s environment- and design-conscious millennial parents, who appreciate timeless clothing for their children at affordable prices, by offering beautiful designs with quality and longevity in their apparel products. The new stores( third and fourth) will come up at Bluewater Shopping Centre and in the new Westfield London extension. Sustainability and affordable pricing will be the major focus areas of both these upcoming stores that have been inaugurated recently. The apparel retailer, which opened its first store in the country in October last year, |
received an overwhelming response and this propelled it to further expand its reach in the British market, stated Camilla Wernlund, Vice President New Business at KappAhl, who is leading the Newbie |
expansion project in UK.“ Newbie is a strong community-based brand for conscious consumers with children in their lives. We continue our search for further locations in areas that are attractive for this target |
group”, said Camilla Wernlund. Markedly, the first Newbie store was opened in Stockholm in 2014. Currently, it has approximately 20 retail stores in Sweden, Norway, Finland, Poland and the UK. |
Fashion retailer H & M is planning to open a new store of its brand – Arket in Bluewater’ s Guildhall in May this year. This will be Arket’ s first store outside central London. Bluewater Shopping Centre is an out-oftown shopping centre in Stone, |
Kent, England. The upcoming store at Bluewater will be spread over an area of 11,000 sq. ft. Here, customers can have an easy overview of the archive collection of the label. The store will also have a café for customers to enhance their shopping |
experience. The upcoming store will offer Scandi-inspired fashion and homewear. Markedly, Regent Street in London hosted ARKET’ s first store. Currently, it operates a total of five stores in London, Copenhagen, Brussels and Munich. The brand was made |
available online in Sweden as well as 17 other countries from the first day of its launch on Regent Street in London.
Arket is a very different offering from the high-street giant H & M and it operates at an elevated price bracket compared to the namesake label of the group. The upcoming Arket store at Bluewater will share the location with Kate Spade, Coach’ s debut standalone store in the South East, and The White Company’ s new regional flagship. The brand was launched by H & M with an aim to“ democratise quality through widely accessible, well-made, durable products, designed to be used and loved for a long time”. ARKET is a modern-day market with quality clothing and accessories for men, women and children, and a selection of homeware and stationery items.
