APTMA signs MoU
with Union of Private
Sector Development of
Tajikistan
All Pakistan Textile Mills
Association (APTMA) has
signed an MoU with the Union
of Private Sector Development
of Tajikistan for an intensive
business tour of Tajikistan’s
textile delegates to Pakistan.
The week-long tour intends to
focus on establishing business
contacts and learning the best
practices and experiences in
addition to developing long-term
collaborations. Among those
present during the signing of MoU
were Syed Ali Ahsan, Central
Chairman, APTMA, Adil Bashir,
Chairman, APTMA Punjab and
other office bearers. This is the
first instance of textile delegates
from Tajikistan visiting Pakistan
for a business tour. Among the
major objectives of the business
tour is to gain exposure to
BUTTONS / BUCKLES
Pakistan’s textile value chain
including use of technology,
establishing business contacts
and also analysing and
understanding the retail sector
in the country.

APTMA also gave a presentation
on the structure of textile sector
as well as on the strengths and
opportunities. The presentation
also stressed on the prospects
of cooperation at association
level with Tajikistan. The tour
is organised with the support of
the Government of Switzerland
through the International Trade
Centre’s Global Textiles and
Clothing Programme in close
cooperation with the USAID-
funded project, “Pakistan
Regional Economic Integration
Activity” (PREIA).
