Growing into sportswear with specific strategy
Having specialization in sportswear, NG
Apparels is being led by Arrpiit Guptaa, a
next generation tech guy who specialises in
digital marketing and is now managing the
garment business very well. “I was trying to
identify the gaps in the market, so I basically
inclined myself towards the sportswear
category. This is a segment which is growing
exponentially,” told Arrpiit. He does not say
‘no’ to any product and takes up challenges,
and believes in ‘promise less and deliver
more’. “We are working with a brand in the
US which has patented 45-pocket jacket.
We are the only manufacturer in the world
to achieve proper sampling and to grab
the manufacturing order,” he claimed. The
company is continuously improving as with
proper system, it reduces time to develop
a sample. Further it is in the process of
developing its own customised ERP. It is
manufacturing products using invisible stitch
powered by Juki and Pegasus machines.
Slowly and steadily, latest technologies
are being added in its unit. Also producing
women’s headgear, the company is trying to
make sure to work on at least 15 per cent
margins. “Initially we used to work with the
companies who gave us huge volumes but
they squeezed a lot on margins. We stopped
working with them and started working with
the brands which are established once, may
be even small. We adopted low orders and
more buyers’ strategy which proved beneficial
for us,” said Arrpiit.
